Australia Travel
I like the way we’re all optimists and dreamers when it comes to traveling. We see phenomenally appealing ads and watch vivid commercials on television about vacation spots overseas. Naturally the majority of us assume the places praised are outstanding, exciting and fun. Never could there be a flip-side to this coin. Heck, if you’re headed to the Jamaica, then you’re bound for island paradise. Right? Uh, maybe not exactly. Although every foreign land may have its perks, there is always a dark side as well. Nothing’s perfect. A utopia doesn’t exist that we know of. Take Australia travel for example. Would you assume that this continent is utterly perfect in every sense, or are we Americans left in the dark?
Ahhh, the good old Outback! It’s where Mick Dundee hunts for crocs, vacationers frolic carelessly on the beaches, and the only thing you have to worry about is being attacked by an aggressive kangaroo. Does this sound about right to you? Ha, don’t be so quick to assume. Not every vacation hot-spot is as it seems. There is a definite downside to Australia travel. Just ask my wife’s co-workers, a couple from Australia. I met these two at a dinner get-together. My wife planned a Saturday night outing so that we could possibly make a couple new friends, and it worked. However, I was shock at all the things I heard about the Outback. Unfortunately it’s not the wondrous vacation spot that ads make it out to be. There is a great deal of crime. They informed me that the burglary and theft rate was atrocious in Australia. If you own things, do not leave them in your yard, or they’ll be gone. Furthermore, the laws do not work in your favor. Only equal force can be used against an attack. So if you’re a 100 pound woman fending off a 250 man with a club, you can also only use a club to defend your life. How ridiculous is this? I couldn’t believe that the popular Australia travel hotspot is actually more like crime city.
You can have that trip to Sidney. I don’t think I will look into any Australia travel plans any time soon. If I am going to head overseas, I want to make certain I’m destined to a place that’s worth my time and effort. After all, vacations don’t happen that often for most of us.
